I want to say first of all that I have never spammed but I have thought about doing it.
I know there are people here that spam and others that are very against it. When I get a spam email it does not bother me personally unless it's very graphic in nature and very offensive.
I just delete it and move on just like I throw my junk mail that I get everyday in my mailbox.
I think it might be more cost effective as far as comparing to paying the big PPC engines.
What do you guy's think good or bad about spam? Why such hatred from some towards companies use it???

My guess is a LOT of people doing well in this industry are spamming. And spamming big time if some of the posts are to be believed.
There was a post recently about 45 Hydro sales a day. And they had been going only a few weeks. Well I got a top 10 position for "Buy Hydrocodone" on google (even though I don't sell it) and I'm barely getting 40+ visitors a day for hydro terms. I also have some pretty high PR sites so I get indexed pretty quick, but for those without the aid of PR8 and above back links it can take longer than 1 month to get your site crawled, indexed and in the results.
Their conversion rate was 1 in 30 so that makes 1,350 people a day.
So my guess is they are not getting 1300 people from search engines.
So I say there are two possibilities left
1) They have a huge client database they are marketing to.
2) They are spamming like crazy.
In regards to possibility 1) I have a non pharmacy mailing list of over 300,000 subscribers. I know what their response rate is and unless their database was cronic pain sufferers they would be lucky to get 130 clicks a day from 300,000 not 1,300 sustainable.
In regards to possibility 2) My inbox has been getting a fresh load of hydro spam daily since last week.
So my guess is SPAM is ruling the day and making some people a whole lot of money.
Also a message to healthdaily2002 if you are not a spammer please accept my apologies. Your post just made a good example for my analysis. So nobody give healthdaily2002 a hard time for being a spammer unless you can prove it with facts.

To be honest I hate Microsoft more than spammers for making a crap operating system and email clients that result in me getting 331 virus emails yesterday alone.
At least spam isn't 1mb in size like some of these crap virus emails are.
But all the same I do hate spammers because they cause legitimate list owners like me a hard time. Anyone had to get your IP address out of an AOL blacklist because some moron who you got as a co-reg complained to AOL they you where spamming? It is a pain in the ass I tell you.
So my vote is castrate any known male spammer and something equally as horrible to the girls out there doing it.

I used to hate the spammers but now I just don't care. I will admit I paid for one of those "targetted opt-in lists" once with no success. I have not tried it since and do not plan on it in the future.
Spammersare bringing awareness to the services that we all offer and that is the only thing that can make me feel better about spamming in general.

Spam costs me money! Plain and simple. No, not just the time it takes to hit the delete button, but the amount of junk email that comes through my webservers daily can easily amount to a gig a day in bandwidth which I have to pay for. For that, I hate spam.

Redex if your servers are Linux are you running MailScanner + SpamAssasin? Uses public Blackhole lists which seems to be one of the few techniques that works in the battle against spam. I use it and very little spam make it through.

It is Ok to press delete key when you are getting 10-20 spam emails/day and move on but when you have 100-200 websites then those emails all add up. I delete over 2000 spam emailsevery Sunday.
Take for example this email. Got this one exactly 52 times in last 5 hours I have been working on my computer and I get this same email every day. Why should I not hate this spammer in particular and all spammers in general? They waste my time andbandwidth which is paid for from my hard earned money.
