Admin,

Please let me know if this is not the appropriate place to post this, I believe it is relevant to the current discussions.

Many are concerned with the recent, current and upcoming changes to our industry. For some time now our company, National Pharmacy Direct, has been working towards a solution to the changes we all face.

As regulations tighten and enforcement of regulations creep in scope, we see the current Affiliate Pharmacy slipping away. Legislation is in the process of passing that will restrict all pharmacies from filling prescriptions for regulated medications based solely on an online questionnaire. In addition, the consumer image of online pharmacies is quickly eroding, as more and more news articles classify general online pharmacy business as "Illegal Internet Pharmacies" soon, only maverick customers will feel comfortable buying from the current Affiliate Pharmacy Model.

In preparation for these changes we have developed a powerful new business model for Online Affiliate Pharmacies. By building Consumer Confidence through openly advertised physical locations, Doctor credentials, Pharmacy certifications and unique content written by expert medical content professionals, our Affiliate Network will hold a place securely above the "Illegal Internet Pharmacies"

This program involves the fulfillment of medications across three separate groups, each with a different fulfillment process:

Unregulated Medications (like Viagra) are fulfilled via the standard online questionnaire.

Regulated Fringe Medications (like Ambien) are fulfilled byhaving thepatient fill out a detailed form for medical history and conditions (just like the one you fill out at a Doctors office or clinic,) then scheduling a time for a return phone consultation by the Doctor. The Phone consultation takes from 5-15 minutes and is similar to the conversation you would have with a Doctor, at a physical visit. The consultation is not geared towards a specific drug or dosage, rather, it involves dialogue around the symptoms, conditions and history of the Patient, possiblyresulting in a prescription medication granted and fulfilled through the service. There is a nominal fee for the remote consultation.

Highly Regulated Medications (standard prescriptions included) are fulfilled by having the pharmacy request a transfer copy of the patients existing prescription, granted by their family healthcare provider, and confirmed by the pharmacy. If the patient has no existing prescription, a network of clinics nationwide are referred.

This system provides solutions on multiple levels:

Unregulated prescription sales are unaffected. Regulated prescription sales are not based solely on an online questionnaire. Existing prescriptions (consider Grandma'sheart medication) can be transferred and benefit from better pricing and convenience.

Consumer Confidence is built by having familiar, established medical processes, and in the piece of mind resulting from seeing that traditional prescriptions are filled at the same site.

In addition, we are scheduled to include a diversified product range including vitamins, herbal supplements and companion products (books, guides, pill organizers, thermometers etc.) All of these products will be available to the affiliates.

Aaron,
Are you the same Aaron Sallade at bardicdesign.com (http://bardicdesign.com) ?

You're program sounds interesting...maybe will take a look at it IF the current business model (no doctor phone call, no previous script) goes away.

But for now, Hydrocodone for everyone! Come and get it.

JohnnyCochran,

I am the same. Bardic Design is my client test server for application development, and my email address as a private consultant.

I own and operate Bardic Design and Bardic Ink, well known software design and graphic design companies in the Seattle, Washington area. The company started as an independent consultancy in 1993 servicing small local businesses (mostly Independent Insurance Agencies and Managing Agents) in their office automation and internet programming/design needs. Occasions would arise in a project where the artistic needs were beyond our skills, so we turned toa Independent Artist/Graphic Designer and a small group of local freelance artists to supplement our business skill set.

As our group's skill and reputation grew I was contacted by a number of local "Headhunter" agencies and Advertising Firms as a subcontracting group to fill their clients' needs in programming and design. We now maintain a wide client base that includes direct customers as well as agencies and marketing firms. We have worked for Electronic Arts, Pepsi, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Hunt DDB Direct, Red Cell Group, Holland America Cruise Lines, Microsoft, Macromedia, Fred Hutch Cancer Research, Group Health Cooperative, Center for Health Promotion and many small businesses, local and remote.

We have developed custom business software in various languages, written large robust internet and e-commerce applications, developed web based client/server tools, created games, and consulted small and large businesses in marketing, branding, and business. Our company has taught specialty courses and seminars at local colleges, user groups and professional organizations in the past, and has received very high professional recommendations from our client base. In fact, we have become so well regarded in the northwest that we now directly service the top technical recruiting agency, Hall Kinion, in their marketing design and layout, as well as consult as technical advisors and project managers to their top clients during contract negotiation. We are their first call on any internet or marketing based project.

We have created award winning Director presentations and Marketing Aids (One campaign tool we created is the most downloaded item ever from Pepsi.com, another is a record breaker for Electronic Arts!) Received awards of expertise by Macromedia for Flash, worked on Marketing for Microsoft, Holland America Cruise Lines and others.

My involvment with National Pharmacy Direct ( a division of Millennium Pharmaceuticals, LLC) was originally as a contractor, and now as a shareholder. Operations at Bardic Design and Bardic Ink are passing to the senior project managers as my attention is now with the Patient Agent Service industry full time.

Regards,

Aaron Sallade

Aaron,

Just a thought if the cost model works, accepting private and public insuance could be a cash cow. I know it would attract a lot of people that would keep their prescriptions online.

In addition agreements with companies to provide pharmacy benefits to employees could be a great market. My take on this business is we have the conduit, all we need are the facilitators. In other words make these kinds of products available and let us market to the mainstream.

Just thoughts from an old fool

Good ideas icollect,

The last couple days we have been discussing setting up local business with a buying group (affiliate) program model. Give them base price, they add on admin fees and the employees get a good price.

Many, many insurance plans require the patient to pre pay the prescription and send in the bill for reimbursement. We will definitely be perusing these options.

It is nice to see that the collective community is coming to similar conclusions in the industry, it shows that the industry as a whole is mature and becoming a viable, reputable marketplace.

What in essence you would have would be the largest single Rx group in the world, in fact as well as having affiliates that sell medications, affiliates could also recuit patients. Permanent assests. Not only for the delivery of medications, but indeed the administaration of health plan(s). The delivery of both direct and indirect medical care. For example there is new technology that allows doctors to remotely perform surgery thru the aid of robotics and assistants. Imagine having the worlds best surgeons made available to those that had coverage for or could pay for the service.

Most people not part of a drug insurance plan would jump all over the opportunity to buy into a plan where they could save 20%. The markup on many drugs would still be 500%, and as long as the delivery mechanism was sound you'd have to turn people away.

Maybe I should copyright this crap, I think I just did.smileys/smiley17.gif

Newbie arrival (bowing, stepping up to the podium ... hold the applause, folks) ...

I assume the US is the top market for OP. But aren't there other more nich markets, like say an OP site specializes in offering RX's sourced in Country A to patients in (offshore) Country B? And wouldn' that be outside the reach of the long arm of the USFDA and whomever thatmight want to shut down OP e-commerce in the US?

Hey, maybe some US Pharmaceutical companies would jump at the opportunity to sell excess production by OP direct tothe third worldat reduced prices.

Just a little brainstorming, but the essence of it all is operating OP on a global basis. Think outside the US of A box.
