For affiliate only access, maybe you could make a new category called "public" where new accounts can post, and make all the current ones "private" then move all current members to the current/private ones?

Block the spiders with robots.txt, membership through whiois verification on an OP site, password required to READ the posts. It's so SMIPLE, even I could do it. smileys/smiley4.gif
