I had an interesting issue recently. Like many advertisers, I contacted AOL to see if I could tap that advertising market. I spoke with one of there sales people and they mentioned that they have never picked up an OP as an advertising client.

The rep asked me toEmail her my site link, how the process worked. I did so. I was very thorough, and even a total moron could understand it.

I get an Email back from her with a fowarded message from a person at AOL named Richard from their quality assurance department. He stated that when he called the customer service number on my site he gets a different company, and when he did call, the people on the phone were willing to sell him meds without a prescription.

My response - I explained about the phone number and affiliates, and also advised had he placed an actualorder he would have had a phsyician do an eval or contact him later. I asked them to please re-read the about us and FAQ and read again the MWS site.

Their response - they do not wish to do business with this type of trade.

I kindly replied back thanking them for their time and told them I will glady take my business elsewhere.

That type of neanderthal thinking is amazing. Long and the short of it, dont waste your time with AOL...

Hmm...this seems like a diversion. I think I'll waste some time with them right now.

Thanks! smileys/smiley10.gif

HeadCracker: It's called DEEEEEP pockets.

i.e. AOL is part of AOL-TIME-WARNER. (Translation: That means billions and billions and billions of dollars in cash reserves, equity and public capitalization via the stock market.)

So anyUS Citizenwith a lawyer could sue them for PROFITING from the advertising of prescription drugs. (Of course that person's case would be much better the more advertising revenue [up into the millions per year] that said person could show the jury AOL is making!)

It's a self-fufilling prophecy. Too much money (deeeeep pockets) attract frivolous lawsuits. And that's why MSNrecently removed/greatly changed their CHAT ROOMS. Because Microsoft has deeeeep pockets, and people could claim damages (pain & suffering!) in a California court room because their 15-year old daughters were learning nasty words (or looking at dirty pics or chatting with dirty old men), or that the "stock discussions" contained fraudulent information.

The good, the bad, & the ugliness that is civil litigation. (A jury of 12 simpletons regularly let murders walk free on technicalities and approve mutli-million dollar settlements in order to 'send the right message' or to 'follow the letter of the law'). The jury selection process (or actually the 'juror #5042 you're dismissed, thank you for your time' process) is key. Getting the right dozen fools gets the sharks (lawyers) crazy with bloodlust.
