What is all the hype about Alexa Rank? Isn't that predicated on people that have the Alexa toolbar installed and not the general surfing populace.
I do have one site with a rannk of 50,654 but I wouldn't have a clue what to do with that information. Anyone out there that can enlighten me?<DWE@GG.AB></DWE@GG.AB><UXI></UXI><GIS@5R></GIS@5R><LK6J></LK6J><EMAIL:></EMAIL:><TRAFFIC></TRAFFIC><TI></TI><TQY></TQY><ZQ 3624></ZQ 3624>

Personally I don't care what my rank is for my sites with Alexa. I do like to check and see if they increase though.
I do use Alexa as a tool for checking out up and coming PPC SE's. First I check their rank. If it's 20,000 or above, they're getting traffic. Then I check the PPC's reviews. If they have a lot of negative reviews from advertisers I'll forget them for a while.
Check out ah-ha.com's reviews smileys/smiley2.gif
Also, you can use the "People who visit this page also visit" info to find other viable advertising sites.

put it this way. I don't have to do any advertising to get 25 or so orders a day.

You just ruined my day. I'm so pissed I didn't start affiliate marketing sooner smileys/smiley19.gif. I was all caught up in "working for the man" smileys/smiley19.gif. I would be iced out like a mo fo if I started sooner. smileys/smiley19.gif

Just checked my best Alexia rank is 45,101. All that having a
high alexia rank means is you get more unwanted emails for people
asking if you want to run their popups for $1 CPM or promote their crap
CPA programs.

Three month average: 21,685
One week average: 17,672
Today: 12,915
The numbers don'tmean a whole lot, but I'm happy to see ours going in the right direction.
Alexa can be useful though. Say you were bidding on a site offered for sale on ebay, or wanted an idea if the person wanting to trade links was blowing smoke or really did get a lot of traffic. You might also use itas a final check before registering a recently expired domain.Residual traffic is a nice bonus on a new domain. smileys/smiley1.gif
The way back machine can be fun too.
Hey Smokey, I can offer you some very nice low base prices to go with that lovely domain... smileys/smiley2.gif
