hey everybody. It's time for me to pack it in. I've been a long time reader here and appreciate all the help y'all have been. I've been in the game for 3 years now (I had one of the first 15 phen sites in Yahoo :)) and I'm just plain old tired of it. I figure I'll sell my sites off and maybe take a holiday then find some new niches to settle in. I've got 4 sites I'm looking to dump (I have more but they will easily convert to vitamin - more generic domain names). All sites are in Yahoo with no recurring fees. wow - PM is filling up fast. I'll add some more details here so I don't have to type all day long :)

The sites are mostly dead - they only combine for about $300 a month right now. They got PR0'd in June of 2002. The penalties are lifted but the sites are just without links anymore. I've just never got back to them. I built a bunch of other stuff and moved on. I believe them to totally rebuildable for links and don't see any reason why they can't rank again. They are keyword rich hyphenated domains. They are setup with e-Scripts but could easily be changed to any other pharm you like.

log spamming is faking referrals from your site to sites that have open log files that google crawls. Your site shows up as a top referrer in the logs and it's a low PR but high anchor text link.

Those long hyphenated domains that nobody can remember are especially good for it because the keywords are in the domain.

Let me see if Iv'e got this straight. You made $50K a month selling meds online, you have four sites ranking high in yahoo. That doesn't make any sense to me. You want to sell vitamins. How much commission can you possibly make on a $10 bottle of vitamins.

I remember seeing those sites doing very well in google. It's possible to make $50K a month just off google rankings. Once he got banned... wa wa waaaaa.

yeah - the sites did well and then got PR0's about 18 months ago (you're not playing hard enough if you don't get a few site banned on occassion I figuresmileys/smiley2.gif) so I built a new network and moved on and just never got back to them. That's all. GoogleGuy over at webmasterworld has assured me that there is no more penalty on the domains but I just don't feel like resurrecting them. I'm tired of fighting with you guys for Google top 10 :) and with the recent DEA stuff I figure I'll just move on. I'll admit to being very lazy - I could have done something with those sites and still could but just don't want to anymore.

re vitamins etc - I'm keeping back a few sites that are still doing ok and will move those to non prescription stuff in the future if the phentermine goes south.

Gettingout, buying your domains for those prices is not a value if they are like "brand new". The inbound linking value or PR is what people would be paying for and now there is none, so why should anyone buy these domains from you?

Why I see some value:
1) Yahoo listings with non recurring fees
2) a few of them are very good for keywords (phentermine-diet-pills.com etc) and log spamming/blog signing/guestbook signing - but none of us would do that right? hehe
3) The first 4 come with prebuilt sites - they're not the greatest but they're there.
4) No Google penalties.

I got banned in October last year too. Had seven of ten listings on page one of google for many popular meds, they caught on to my tricks and my sites fell off into oblivion. Never have recovered :(
