View Full Version : We are as guilty as Overture and Google

We are simply advertisers that get paid based upon performance, just like Google, Overture, FindWhat, and others. If we are liable, then so are they.

If you step back and look at the big picture, then you will see that the PPC engines benefit the most from this industry. If this market goes away, then it will cause Yahoo to restate their earnings by at least $50 million over the next 12 months. That amount will make a big hit on their stock price.

So, we should continue to watch the news andsee if Yahoo (Overture) decides to stop listing Online Pharmacies. If they do, then I would short the stock and make a killing.

Good luck!

Yahoo stopped, overture may follow. Google says they are still in.

Yahoo stopped selling banners and impression ads, which will make a small impact. Yahoo continues to allow Overture, its subsidiary, to sell PPC advertisements. I would guess that Google and Overture each make about $10 million per month off of this industry.

Overture loves me and so does Google. I have them calling me daily asking me what they can do for me. smileys/smiley16.gif

IMO, it is unlikely they will get rid of online pharmacy PPC ads in the near future. They simply make too damn much money from us (me)! smileys/smiley19.gif

However, I have been wrong before!

Well, if the industry is shut down or is limited to just certain meds, then that would decrease the amount of money that people spend on PPC, thus lowering the earnings of Overture/Yahoo.

LowerEarnings = Lower Stock Price

Summary....Short the Stock

yahoo is up 1.31% today and there are no articles or analysts commenting on a loss of revenue due to yahoo's decision to drop op ads. I doubt it will make a difference on their earnings

Not those lame ass right column creatives that 50% of the surfing population cannot see because they are on AOL or 640x480 but pulling the overture ads out should impact their earnings.

Is Yahoo selectively pulling Overture OP ads? Sponsor listings show for some meds and not others smileys/smiley5.gif

Yahoo makes the majority of their revenue from Overture PPC ads in the OP space. If Overture decides to stop servicing our industry, then it will drop their earnings.

I highly doubt that. If the majority of their earnings were from overture ppc ads in the OP space (BTW they just now purchased overture), there would have been a huge sell-off last week, and a lot of downgrades from analysts. I doubt yahoo would drop us if it was a large chuck of their earnings.
Although I'm sure they make some nice money, and maybe the highest dollar amount per search off of us, that info is not nor will it ever be made public. It is all speculation by us.

Also, Google is interviewing investment banks as we speak to explore going public.

Not quite. Google isaiming for a valuationof $16B, Yahoo is at $26B. Maybe MedStar and his 2500 can float them a loan.

iggy, if you are gonna debate a statement, at least post your reference material to back up your dispute or relate some facts to add validity to your reply. Thanks smileys/smiley2.gif

I don't think "printers" fetches $10-15 a click like phent.

I don't think any of us can "guess" about yahoo's OP revenues. I know for a fact though, that on every keyword yahoo had at least 5-10 of there own ads generateing around $30 per thousand impressions. I'll bet that made their own ads more profitable than their 50/50 split with overture. But who knows.

I was in those right column creatives - it was something like 10 keywords, $180 a month unlimited impressions or clicks. Traffic sucked!
