Dewie42,

I apologizeif you find the postcardoffensive. That was certainly not our intent. Prior to mailing it out we showed it around toseveralfriends and colleaguesandthey allfelt it wasclever and amusing. We've alsohad dozens of newaffiliates call and signupas a direct result of the postcard and they thought it was funny too.

Of all people, I thought that you would have been able to see the humor in it.smileys/smiley4.gif

But I'll let people judge for themselves whether they like it or not. I've attached a copy of the postcard.

I don't think so. Not one of my sites has the correct contact info. You must have got the names some other way.

I proxy register all 99% of my sites and Epilot called me today regarding one of the proxy sites. They said they got my info thru whois. What is the purpose of registering by proxy if it's still available?

ICANN frowns on marketing with whois information :(

Will my name and contact information be publicly available?

Yes. Information about who is responsible for domain names is publicly available to allow rapid resolution of technical problems and to permit enforcement of consumer protection, trademark, and other laws. The registrar will make this information available to the public on a "Whois" site.

Kids and online meds do not mix well. Some old lady at home in her slippers rolling in money (like the Bread Lady) would do it. smileys/smiley8.gif

my cat owns most of my sites. whenever she gets mail we know someone has been snooping around the whois.

i keep trying to get her to sell me a certain domain name, but she just will not go for it. bet she is the richest cat on the block!

a funny story, one day someone called asking for her by name. ha, i said she is in her litterbox right now, can i take a message!

you know what you can do to id which companies are giving your address out for anything.

make a code and add it to the 2nd address line or something like

1223 blah st apt101r

if you used r for site A and you received some sort of mail addressed to youas apt101r then you would know that the info was received from site A. It works
