View Full Version : CHECK YOUR LINKS QUICK

ok, I had different link names assigned to each site in my EVA control panel.

for instance...

www.whateverpharmacy.com (http://www.whateverpharmacy.com)

may have had the link name whateverpharm

I thought this was what we were suppose to do. But it seems since the tropics switch that some of my sites, generated with the rxaffiliate.com program is now sending orders with whateverpharm as the website name on the order screen.

so when an order is placed, I am not getting credit. I do not do too many orders with EVA but I thought it was strange I was getting hardly anything this week.

I am not sure if I did something wrong to begin with but I just wanted to let everyone know so that they arent losing sales like I am sure I did and will continue to do until I get everything changed.

I do know that everything was giving me credit before with the same exact links.

ok, well now its working fine like it should have been.

I am not crazy here though and I did place a COD orderas a test whichdid not show up in the order screen and I still have the order numbers. I am not trying to say something shady is going on butIstill wonder why this happened. Iwill email Theo and see what could have happened.

There is a bug in the tropics system that's not picking up everything correctly if you didn't name your weblinks www.thesite.com (http://www.thesite.com). That's what I was having a problem with yesterday.

Call Theo -- he had to do a manual adjust on something for each site of mine, then the correct prices/shipping/order form showed up.

the EntryScreen&w=xxxxxxx.com should be www.xxxxxxxx.com (http://www.xxxxxxxx.com)?? if so I will start smileys/smiley19.gifI thought we were just to change the eapps.com to tropicsp.com ?????smileys/smiley6.gif

Are you sure the www. is required. I have had all mine as domain.com without the "www." Hmmm.....

No -- You don't have to change anything on your website --

& No, you don't have to have the "www" I don't think -- It's the Not having .com in the weblink name.

Theo has to make some kind of adjustment in coding if you don't have ".com" in the weblink name. It's not reading the weblinks right. So even if you change it now, it wouldn't help (before calling Theo I tried it).

This is just speculation -- the Tropics system is looking for weblinks (what you "named" your website) with .com names -- All of mine were without the .com. smileys/smiley5.gif

This makes sense, as Theo may have widgets.com, widgets.net and widgets.cc as seperate affiliates.

pillz
October 30th, 2003, 04:36 PM
I just use a single word like pillz or whatever and have never used the .com as the name of a site.

Seems like orders have really dropped off since the switch, but some are going through.

What say ye?

Since I usually buy the .com and .net, I have distinguished that in the price tables. If the www. becomes a requirement, I am screwed to the wall. smileys/smiley6.gif

Seems to me to be a weakness in the system. I was testing this a couple of days ago. Needs to be www.yoursite.com (http://www.yoursite.com) or yoursite.com or whatever will take you back to your site. If you use a single word such as "pillz" the return link at the end of the generic order form goes to http//pillz and the customer can only go back to the reffering order page by clicking the back button. If you use .yoursite.com and http://yoursite.com needs the www part the return link will not work.

Would be better to have a single name to identify the price schedule this keeps the URL and the .js nice and short an additional field to get the reffering URL links to work properly IMHO.
