Shark Attack
November 6th, 2003, 06:27 PM
I wanted to personally inform you of the company's decision to discontinue processing requestsforphysicianconsultations related to "Controlled Substances" as of this evening, November 6, 2003. All request submitted before 12pm EST will be forwarded to a physician.
As you are well aware, we have always worked closely with our attorneys regarding the legalities of this industry. Due to the recent policy enacted by theU.S. Drug Enforcement Agencyconcerning customers obtaining prescriptions based solely on an online medical questionnaire, we have decided to discontinue access to submit such request. We have new business models that exceed the current concerns express by the DEA that we will be introducing to you in the near future. The DEA policymay be accessed at http://www.usdoj.gov/dea/pubs/pressrel/diversion_actualities (http://www.usdoj.gov/dea/pubs/pressrel/diversion_actualities_transcript.html) _transcript.html

Tomorrow morning I will provide you with a link to you so you may redirect all requests for controlled substances.

We apologize for any inconvenience, appreciate your understanding during this transition and look forward to your participation in our new concepts.

Sincerely,
<P class=Mso

Hopefully, it wont be a Bombshell and something that we all can benefit from, they seem to all be going legal eagle, and if thats the way its gotta be , then if we want to stay in the RX Biz we will have to follow the guidelines plain and simplesmileys/smiley2.gifIt's a given that E-Scripts will not be the first or the last to come forward ,and I'll bet over the weekend we will get another Bombshell dropped here ,it seems the bad news generally comes to this Forum on Fridays and over the weekends,(especially the changing of linking codes and meds to be removed)smileys/smiley6.gif

I suppose this means the demise of Phentermine at E-Scripts, at least until a "new business model" can be put in place.

Can you please give us an exact list of the "controlled meds" that will be dropped?

Looks like you can determine which drugs that e-Scripts is still selling by getting to the order form (Click Viagra, then theorder link to get to the order form).

Look at the remaining drugs in the dropdown list on the order form. smileys/smiley19.gif

I guess theseare not "Controlled Substances".

For those who are going to continue to risk promoting diet pills and other controlleds, it looks like it will be a matter of changing links for the next few months until no OP's are left to promote.

"Tomorrow morning I will provide you with a link to you so you may redirect all requests for controlled substances."

I guess this will just be a link to some kind of notice, if so why are Escripts bothering- surely all affiliates will do their own redirection or deletion as they see fit. Do you think Escripts have a new system to accept orders for controlled substances on the horizon but where the consultation is more than an online questionaire ?

iggy
November 7th, 2003, 05:15 AM
Maybe they will redirect to another similar product?

On a serious note, which OP's do you guys think will stay with diet pills/controlled the longest?

I remember last year it was like "I hope the industry stays as it is for 2 more years". Now many are hoping for 2 months...

Shark Attack

I would imagine it would take a lot more for MyRxBiz to drop controlled substances

medicineman
November 7th, 2003, 06:52 AM
Haven't seen it yet.

Well, it's no surprise that they're tossing out Phentermine after dropping Didrex andBontril. They're all on the DEA list of controlled substances at some level.

The industry needs a new model. E-Scrpits-MD suggests they are developing one. Maybe a web-cam model ??? Maybe a resident doc at Internet cafes? Or maybe local doctors to whom the patient must be referred.

The industry evolves and where there's money to be made, innovators will find ways. It's going to be interesting to see what developes.

PotentMix
November 7th, 2003, 09:17 AM
Well, for those of us who've been with E-Scripts for a long time, this will represent a considerable loss of business, at least until some other way is found to provide these products.

Phentermine, etc. refills, for me, had become a nice sustainable revenue source. Its kind of hard to take this sort of loss.

This would be a nice time for some of the other OP's to step up to the plate and give their affiliates a clue.

Dropping phentermine is huge. I'm certain that it was a large part of their business.

I would guess that the coming months will be some of the most brutal yet if this is any indication.

hmmmm. I guess the have a pharmacy in a state where soma is still NOT a controlled....

Any rate, I am out of town and will see what I can find out about this. I will tell you MWS is not looking at shying away from any contolls.

I have heard that EVA and some fo the others who are away from the ciii rights now will put them back January 1st after the get a their nurse/paramedic program in place. Maybe e-scripts is going the same route?

chicago
November 7th, 2003, 09:27 AM
can you explain howthe nurse/paramedic program works? thanks

cipman
November 8th, 2003, 01:33 PM
Nurse / practictioner:

The DEA acknowledges a prescription to be valid if the patient has been seen by a third party such as a nurse or a nurse/practioner. The third party examines the patient and submits a report to the physician, thereby legitimizing the the need for the prescription. Unless e-Scripts can implement some type of a third party examination to varify / legitimize prescriptions for controlled substances such as Phentermine / Adipex, they can not leagally fill those prescriptions.

I got the letter from Chris. I sent a message to e-Scripts asking what the time frame was for "near future". I have never received a reply. I also never received the "link to redirect".

Anyone know if any of the other outfits such as USAprescriptions have successfully initiated a third party examination to continue selling C.S.'s?

Privacyrx is still running their T.V. adds. They are with USA.

If not, they will either have to, or will have to pullC.S.'s just like e-Scripts.

Maybe the party is over? One thing I think we can all agree on, we need more info. However, with so much money at stake, have to want to believe they will think of something? I liked the web cam idea. Meantime, going to pull C.S.'s from my site.

So what if Escripts stops selling Phentermine or any of those others. Why isnt everyone just changing their links over to MyRxBiz or someone else to push these products? Plus Escripts commisions were much lower than the others. Maybe I am confused but I dont think this stuff matters much to me. Sell them while you can boys and girls.

Anni

Most probably are changing links, but it's an interesting challenge!

If you have a site set up for EVA for example and you choose to change links only for the products that they stop selling, you have to choose an alternative that offers the same options such as Satuday delivery. And what about order tracking for pre and post withdrawal customers? What about customer email queries that get directed to Eva instead of the new replacement program?

So, very often a bit of a rewrite becomes necessary to make the change as seamless as possible.

We all prefer building new sites to amending existing ones that's for sure!

Plus none of us know how long the amendments we make will be effective. Will it be days, weeks months ................... or hours?

I guess we're all frustrated and a bit edgy....

Change has that effect on people and usually produces the following emotions/reactions throughout the change curve

This may sound off the wall. We're all looking at this from our own economic interests. Don't get me wrong, I'm as concerned for that as the next OP affiliate.

But, somehow, I had come to believe that obesityhad becomea serious threat to public health. For obese consumers reluctant to confrontthe issue in a clinical setting, the internet offers a way todeal with it discreetly, absent the embarassment and lack of privacy involved in visiting a physician or clinic. That avenue is being shut off.

Just an additional thought.

Who cares about public health? DEA? Forget it. They seem to believe that all junkies are getting high on diet pills instead of cocaine which is easily available on everythird street corner in most cities across USA.
