View Full Version : Healthcare A New Approach!!!

As you know over the last few weeks, I've been frantic in trying
to present ideas that might help our industry, and I think
I have a bullet proof idea that could not only be used to
prescribe medications over the web, but indeed be used to
deliver medical care, and infant, disabled and senior system
monitoring.

1. The core of the idea is making the
physical exam a reality via the web. currently the only
problem we have is the client patient relationship. The
solution lies in a device that is already in use in many
doctors offices across america. It is a device that clips
on the end of a patients finger. This device transmits
currently to a PDA, I'm sure to PCs too, and gathers such
data as
a. Blood pressure
b. heart rate(pulse)
c. Blood Oxygen levels
d. with modifications could record temmpature

2. Webcam! One of the cheif complaints of the DEA,
is the doctors inablity to visually see the patient.
Many if not most computers come with webcams installed.
I don't believe the webcam to be necessary for
initial implementation to satisfy the doctor patient
relationship as transmitting data gathered in step 1
is more than or equal to data currently collected
in more doctors offices.

3. The above gathering of information could be done by
techs, over a secure netwoprk, as opposed to the actual doctor,
because this is already common place in many medical
clinics across america. Even without the use of webcams
the interview, a valid id, and the creation of a medical
record would establish a doctor patient relationship.

4. I belive if purchased in mass the cost of the medical
device used to gather data would be very inexpensive
and could be offered to existing patients as a incentive
to stay with online medicine and even those that have
been scared off by current bad press would return.

5. Market the device actively on the web, in retail stores,
and any other media rich enviornment, offer rebate with
first purchase.

6. I believe that this could open up a huge new marketing
area in the monitoring area for people who are diabled,
seniors and infants thru the use of a bracelet or clip
device that would alert monitors if a change in vital
signs occurred, possibly alerting medical and rescue personel
long before the person is in an unrecoverable state.
This is a huge possible market in the baby boomer sector.
In major cities and almost everywhere DSL is available.
The industry would already have personel in place, the tech,
in the afore mentioned step.

I believe if we use this method not only would our cash flow
not decrease, but I believe billions in new revenue
would be generated in the retention of existing customers
and the addition of millions on new customers, the addition
of valued added monitoring and first alert systems, and
most importantly of all the acceptance in main stream
America as being the leading edge of high tech medicine.

I urge any ops interested in delevoping this technology
to contact me, as I will be more than happy to provi

...or we could erect small buildings in every major city and have them staffed with dr.'s and nurses who could do an actual examination. The doctor could then prescribe medication, if needed. Then all the customer has to do is, take the prescription to the local pharmacy down the street and have it filled!

We could even call the small erected structures, doctor's offices!

Is that the best you got. Your attitude is what I've come to expect, and what I said a month ago is exactly what is happening. If you'd tried being constructive a month ago we probally wouldn't be looking at down time or being out of buisness, that's next. When you find yourself working a real job 20 hrs a day a making 25% as much as you do nowthe only thing that won't be erect is your penis.

i think Icollect makes a good point, ecspecially point #6, people who are disabled and are unable to get to these so called structures just to get a regular check up or blood pressure taken, it doesnt only effect the disabled person, its a chain if you really think about it, someone has to pay for a health care worker or family member to go out of there way to pick these people up, drive them there, take them home and whatnot and most likely is an inconveinence to the disabled person just to get there and be told that they are fine. I encourage you to act on this icollect and am very curious to see where it takes you.

And of course anything that keeps people coming back to our sites is great, and will eliminate the need for companies to hire spammers, am i not right about that?

I plan topush this idea as, well as anyothers, because with court rulings and enforcement actions underway unless this industry starts makingreccomendations that show we are going to voluntarily comply, we'll cease to exist and the narrow vision of drugstore.com will become the only legal model for the next 100 years.

I'm not saying this is the only model that will work, or the best model, but the industry has to submit some kind of model other than the erect structure model. Drugstore.com wins in that model, welose, the patients all lose, and healtcare for the next century loses.
