And not as prosperous as you'd think either.
Probably better off studying some black hat techniques...

Don't you risk that the affiliateprogram you are using kicks you out.

No, you have to worry about Google kicking you out if they catch you, but I don't think the affiliate programs care as long as you're not spamming...

I said that mostly in jest, but I think if you're not an .edu, thats about the only way to get any listings related to OP.

QUESTION: How do you eat an elephant?

ANSWER: One bite at a time . . . (serious groaning here!)

Now let’s begin to focus on things that will help you keep on track, without becoming totally overwhelmed.

One of the most powerful methods of overcoming this feeling is to put yourself in a position to be able to enjoy rapid rewards for the work that you do. Every step you take is bringing you in the right direction.

HOWEVER, many of us are perfectionist . . . (you already know who you are)

If you wait for your site, (or even a page for that matter) to be perfect before uploading changes, it will take far too long for you to see results. If every change you make brings you a little closer to your target, you get excited. You actually begin to see where you are headed. The more excited you get, the easier it becomes to follow the steps without becoming discouraged.

Recently I have had good success in non Rx Areas with Twitter posts helping SEO rankings for sites on Google. Twitter posts linking to blogs and specific web pages. However I have barely started with twitter.com/SaraPSP (http://twitter.com/SaraPSP) for our OP sites.

Google is not a fan of Online Pharmacy sites or affiliate sites. It is also a very competitive area with lots of repeat content. Unique content is still most important factor.

As a new tool I think Twitter and other microblogging tools are worth exploring.

Read a lot of SEO ebooks to learn SEO. Try making backlinks yourself and check changes on search engines. Never go for black-hat techniques for attaining ranking.

I totally agree, you could still earn money without using black hat techniques. If you're unlucky, Google or your affiliate program might penalized you. Remember, learn the basic SEO first before getting advance.

I can't recommend you any books but it would be best to join some SEO forums like this. You will learn a lot from these forum and you can ask if there are things you can't understand in SEO.

First things first, what is this optimization thing? Well, basically it is about optimizing your website so that the search engine spiders (bots that the search engines send out to retrieve data from the web) can easily find your site and rank it for the most appropriate keywords. Now it is your responsibility to make sure that these bots know exactly for what keywords they should rank your website for otherwise you will be getting zero traffic from the search engines.
