I've been an affiliate for 5 weeks now. I receive approx. 12 hits per day. No sales yet. Am I doing something wrong or is this normal?

LOL!!! Have some patience... Where do the 12 hits come from? 12 hits could be from spiders, feed readers, etc, etc, etc and not actual people...

like noprescriptionpharmacy said - its really depends.
If your traffic is real, i think you are right and its low.

Stop wasting your money! Do they tell you exactly where the hits are coming from? Can you see exactly where your links/advertisement/redirect is placed?
Targeted traffic didn't work in 2004 and I doubt it will work in 2010... I did it at first and maybe out of a million (supposed U.S. health targeted) hits I got 2 sales (this was 6 years ago), but those were times were there weren't so many options out there for the customers!
Try PPC to start, it might be expensive at first but (if you have really good prices) in the long run if you are with a good program that manages your reorders you'll get your money back... If you have the time and knowledge SEO to me has been the best marketing strategy but it is not an industry for "SEO beginners"...
You got into the 3rd or 4th toughest industry online, and you got in LATE, don't expect to make any money if you don't invest it properly or have some really good strategies...

Ask them to provide you the url of "their targetted" traffic.
It could take months or years to get a sale or it could happen in a day.
I went from 100's of sales a month when i stated to 10 sales a year 2 years ago to much better this past few months.
You never can tell.
PPC is a total waste of money, ( even with deep pockets) The only thing that will work is SEO and even that takes time

Wendy hi,
it can take from several days to several years, i know people who get 1-2 sales a month and others with 100-500 sales a month.
you need to know that this is a very hard business and in effort to make money you will have to spend some mostly in time, when i used to work as an affiliate there were site with great conversation while some other did not.

Thats absolutely right.
Wendy , conversions depends mainly on the following points:-
1) Design (For when the visitor comes to your shop he should feel confident)
2) Products (Your shop should have most of the best sellers , as visitor is entitled for options)
3) Most importantly is the niche of the traffic (If you promote pharmacy to people who are interested only in porn , its not going to help :) )
If you keep in mind these points you will surely gain success.
In case you still want to discuss any more , you can tell me , will be glad to help.
Thx

Thanks for all your advice. I'm very worried that I am wasting my time. Now I don't know where to begin, I have already spent $$ and don't really want to give up. I heard this was an easy market to get into and there was a lot of money to be made. Was I mistaken?

Anybody can get into the market but it isn't easy!!!! Who ever told you that was just trying to get something out of you (maybe a set up fee or something similar)... It is one of the toughest industry online today, there is sex, gambling and pharmacy, those 3 are the biggest moneymaker but the 3 most competitive industries online. (payday loans, etc are also really tough!!!)

Yeah... whoever told you this is an easy market either doesn't have a clue... or has an alternative motive...
RX has always been competitive, but over the last few years it has become even more difficult due to new rules and regulations. Plus, search engines hate RX sites... so good luck ;)

If you work for for 5 weeks with 12 hits a day its 0:600. Its normal.
PS. I got my first signup in 2 weeks. It was a good sign :)

Hi,
I think you should wait for sometime, its just 12 hits and it is not enough. you have to work harder for this and should have patience. It may took time to come in flow. Otherwise you will look for another affiliate programs which are quick and prompt.
