I think the story goes something like this...
In the complaint, the board alleges that Union Family worked with a corporation in the Virgin Islands that operates a web site (www.buymeds.com) to sell thousands of orders for highly addictive drugs (Schedule III and IV) to customers in 47 states. Union Family is not licensed to operate in any state other than Iowa. The arrangement also allowed dangerous pharmaceuticals to be obtained without a valid prescription, without a valid physician/patient relationship to determine possible harmful effects of the medication, without verifying the drugs were to be used for legitimate medical reasons and without proper record keeping.
Although the pharmacy board took this action in an emergency meeting, a formal hearing on the charges has been scheduled for October 9th in Des Moines.
