    Default American Telemedicine Association

    Internet prescribing may fall in the outskirts of telemedicine but it is still defined as telemedicine , to quote the ATA:

    "Patient consultations using telecommunications to provide medical data, which may include audio, still or live images, between a patient and a health professional for use in rendering a diagnosis and treatment plan. This might originate from a remote clinic to a physician's office using a direct transmission link or may include communicating over the Web."

    The different levels of prescribing , formulated by ATA ,starting with the safest first;

    Levels of prescribing:

    *Prescribing based on a physical examination resulting in a diagnosis by a licensed physician.
    *Prescribing based on a examination of medical records completed by the primary care physician who has physically seen the patient.
    *Prescribing based on an electronic visual and vital sign data examination resulting in a diagnosis by a licensed physician using telemedicine remotely
    *Prescribing based on an electronic vital sign data examination resulting in a diagnosis by a licensed physician using telemedicine remotely.
    *Prescribing based on a questionnaire filled out by the patient that is relying on information received from a previous physical examination that resulted in a diagnosis by a licensed physician.
    *Prescribing based on a questionnaire that is relying on information filled out by the patient .
    *Prescribing based on no patient examination or questionnaire

    Internet Prescribing is defined by level 5.

    Then the future for this OP model is to know which medications may fall into those 2 categories.
    Which are the exact medications that a Medical Doctor is able to prescribe in a face to face consultancy, by using only a questionary.

    Maybe erectil dysfunctions drugs and a few more.

    Any Doctor here?
